Chimpanzee Baby at the Lion Country Safari

Exotic Wildlife

Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes)
The chimpanzee makes its home in the trees and on the ground.  It is a fruit eater and sleeps at night in large nests built in trees.  One of the most communicative animals, it has a complex repertoire of gestures and vocal sounds.  It lives in unorganized groups and has a basic relationship with its mother.
