Jungle Babies from The Rainforest Cafe

Jungle Babies
Rainforest Cafe
Pop Art

This postcard features an alligator, gorilla, sloth, tiger, black panther (cougar), monkey, orangutan and a bird.  It is postmarked in 2015.

Rainforest Cafe is a themed restaurant chain. The first location opened in the Mall of America in Minnesota, USA on February 3, 1994.

Each Rainforest Cafe restaurant is designed to depict some features of a tropical rainforest, including plant growth, mist, waterfalls and figures of rainforest animals. Some of the animals are animatronic and start making animals noises and move.  My favorite part of these restaurants is when there is a 'rain storm' inside.  All the lights dim and there is 'lightning' and then it starts to rain inside the restaurant.  Not on the customers, only in parts by the walls. But it is very fun.  Our family loved to eat here when we visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Exaggeration Postcard: Florida Alligator

All the way from Florida

The Alligator is a native of the Florida Everglades.  For some time its skin has been fashionably used in the manufacture of bags, shoes, etc., and with this increasing use they had been hunted until they ere almost extinct.  To remedy this situation and supply the demand, several thriving Alligator farms are now in operation, where the breeding and care of alligators is the main industry.

My girlfriend and I went for the day.  We had a lot of fun!  The airboat ride was fast, we saw close up alligators and turtles.  There was a lot of rain recently, so the birds were not there.  We toured the 'zoo' area after and held an alligator, that was fun too.

Set of Three Postcards to Make An Alligator

Souvenir of St. Augustine, Florida

I send you herewith the head of a Gator,
Watch for the mail - it will bring more later.

This city is the oldest continually occupied European settlement in North America.  St. Augustine was founded in 1565 by Don Pedro Menendez of Aviles, Spain who was sent to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets sailing along the coast of Florida.

Two-thirds I am here, in body and soul,
The next is the last and the Gator is whole.

St. Augustine, Florida
A stone fortress was built by the Spanish to protect St. Augustine from English expansion.  Construction of Castillo de San Marcos started in 1672 making it the oldest masonry fortification in the United States.  It stands today as a symbol of Spain's early colonization of our country.
This is the last Card I send you by mail,
The end of the Gator and then end of the "tale."

St. Augustine, Florida
To learn more about this "Tale" and others, visit the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park.  You can see 23 species of crocodilians, rare white alligators, exotic birds, and mammals.  Wildlife shows every hour 10 am to 5 pm.

All three postcards are printed in 2007 but postmarked in 2013.

The Pantanal is a tropical wetland and the world's largest wetland of any kind. It lies mostly within the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul but extends into Mato Grosso as well as into portions of Bolivia and Paraguay, sprawling over an area estimated at between 140,000 square kilometers (54,000 sq mi) and 195,000 square kilometers (75,000 sq mi).

80% of the Pantanal floodplains are submerged during the rainy seasons, nurturing an astonishing biologically diverse collection of aquatic plants and helping support a dense array of animal species.

The name "Pantanal" comes from the Portuguese word pântano, meaning wetland, bog, swamp or marsh. By comparison, the Brazilian highlands are locally referred to as the planalto, plateau or, literally, high plain.

Alligators in Ace Venture, When Nature Calls

Jim Carrey

Ace Ventura
Operacion Africa (My guess is 'When Nature Calls' looses it's true meaning in the translation)

Nuevos Animals (New Animals)
Nuevas Aventuras (New Adventures)
Mismo Pelo (Same Hair)
1995

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Africa's the place and Ace is on the case, setting out to rescue an animal he loathes: a bat! Jim Carrey returns as Ace, the alligator-wrasslin', elephant-calling, monkeyshining, loogie-launching, burning coals-crossing, disguise-mastering pet detective.

Some Ace quotes:

Your request is not unlike your lower intestine: stinky and loaded with danger.

Friends, rodents, quadrupeds, lend me your rears!

If you were me, then I'd be you, and I'd use *your* body to get to the top.

It is the mucus that binds us.
