A Cougar Cub from Colorado

North American Wildlife
Colorado

# 1141 Cougar Cub (Felis concolor).
The young cougar is born in protected dens in caves or under ledges or roots.  There can be up to six young born at one time.  It has a speckled coat and a ringed tail, but these markings disappear as it grows.  It becomes independent of the mother after two years.
