The Oasis Camel Dairy is America's first camel dairy.  Located in rural San Diego 

on Hwy 78. Forty two acres of  pastures are home to a family of dromedary camels.

The Ahaggar Mountains also known as the Hoggar, are a highland region in central Sahara, or southern Algeria near the Tropic of Cancer.

The Hoggar Mountain range is chiefly volcanic rock and contains a hot summer climate, with a cold winter climate (temperatures fall below 0°C in the winter).  Rainfall is rare and sporadic. However, since the climate is less extreme than in most other areas of the Sahara, the Ahaggar Mountains are a major location for biodiversity.

The Afar (Afar: Qafár), also known as the Danakil, are an ethnic group in the Horn of Africa. They primarily live in the Afar Region of Ethiopia and in northern Djibouti.

The Afar are traditionally roaming farmers, raising goats, sheep, and cows in the desert.

Often camels are born white and will turn brown as they are growing up.

The two surviving species of camel are the dromedary, or one-humped camel (as seen above), which inhabits the Middle East and the Horn of Africa; and the bactrian, or two-humped camel, which inhabits Central Asia. Both species have been domesticated; they provide milk, meat, hair for textiles or goods such as felted pouches, and are working animals with tasks ranging from human transport to bearing loads.

The pyramids of Giza are truly a marvel of architecture. The three largest pyramids located in the valley consist of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Kafhre and the Pyramid of Menkaura. Each Pyramid is a tomb dedicated to a different king of Egypt.

All three pyramids were built during the Third and Fourth Dynasty; these structures resulted from a monumental effort by the king (and his sons). The Pyramid of Khufu has a base which covers roughly a nine acre area (approximately 392,040 square feet). The Pyramid of Menkaura, unlike the other pyramids, has granite covering one tier of its base. The Pyramid of Khafre had a two-tiered base encased in granite.

Mehariste is a French word that roughly translates to camel cavalry.

M'Hamid is a small village in Zagora region of Morocco, one of the two places in Morocco where Sahara begins (another is Merzouga). M'Hamid gets fewer visitors than Merzouga and is arguably more "authentic."  It is "The end of the road" (the last point of The route national N°9), after it is only sands of Sahara, shepherds and caravan trails.
