From The 2015 Ford Experience Tour.
This is a picture taken at SunFest and turned into a postcard. Of course any decent Florida postcard would have a large pink flamingo on it!

Flamingos Nesting
Flamingos Nesting at Hialeah Park, Miami, Florida
The unique feature of Hialeah Park is its great flock of flamingos. These birds were imported from Cuba and South America and in 1939 for the first time, flamingos were raised to maturity in this country. That first season 62 birds were hatched at Hialeah and this year there were almost on hundred. The young birds are white and take on their pink coloring with maturity. Flamingos are fed a mixture of boiled rice, dried shredded shrimp, grains and cod liver oil
This is postmarked in 1953.

A Flamingo in Florida
Florida Flamingo
2009
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Every flamingo does not nest every year. When they do nest, they typically lay one large, white egg. The nest is built of mud, small stones, and feathers on the ground and is in the shape of a volcano. Mounds can be as high as 30 cm (12 in.). It can take a pair of flamingos up to six weeks to build their nest. Both parents will take turns incubating the egg for 26 to 31 days.
Newly hatched chicks have gray or white down feathers and a straight red bill. In these large colonies, parents can recognize their own chicks by their vocalizations (voice).
What do nestling flamingos eat?
Parent flamingos do not regurgitate food for their young the way most birds do. They feed their nestling a liquid substance called 'crop milk', a secretion of the upper digestive tract stimulated by the hormone prolactin. Crop milk is dark red in color and very high in fat and protein and is produced by both male and female birds.

Flamingo from Lion Country Safari, Florida
Lion Country Safari
#8618 Flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber)
Flamingos dine on small animals by suing their curiously shaped bills to strain them from the mud. Ranked among the top zoos in the nation, Bush Gardens maintains a strong commitment to wildlife preservation.
(error postcard - this is not from Bush Gardens - it was bought at Lion Country Safari - however this company sells the same cards to different zoos around the country, they only change the words on them, so I think they changed the front, but forgot to change the back) (**Update: I contacted Lion Country Safari, and yes, this is an error, they sent the rest of the cards back and ordered new ones :)

I can't figure this card out! Was the crab playing the violin, then a flamingo decided to eat the crab? It looks like the crab might have been drinking too - or is that a hot water bottle?? What ever is going on, I think it is a fantastik :) postcard!
