Lion and Cubs at the Lion Country Safari

Exotic Wildlife

Lion (Panthera leo)
Lions are social animals that live in groups usually made up of one or more adult males and two or more females, along with cubs and adolescents.  Lion cubs stay close to their mothers for the first two years because they have much to learn about survival in the African savannas.  After two years, males must go in search of their own pride and home range, while females usually stay with the pride of their birth.
