Rocky Mountain Wildlife - 10. Broad-tailed Hummingbird

Broad-tailed Hummingbird - Selasphorus platycerous.
This hummingbird inhabits forests and riparian communities.  While both sexes are primarily iridescent-green the male has a rose-red throat.  The wingbeat of the adult male produces a metallic whistling sound.
